Frequently asked questions
Consultations, contact, risks and expectations.
Before your consultation
How do I request an appointment?
Use the online booking diary or contact the practice by phone, WhatsApp or email. A request is not confirmed until the practice confirms the date and time.
Where does Dr Aufiero practise?
Visits and treatments take place in Naples. Monthly consultations are also offered in Rome and Milan by appointment; the location of any subsequent treatment is discussed during consultation.
Can I book a treatment directly?
Please book a consultation. The doctor first assesses whether any treatment is appropriate, which option may be suitable and when it should be performed.
Do I need to send photographs or health information?
No. Your name and contact details are sufficient to arrange an appointment. Clinical information is collected during the medical consultation.
How long do results last?
Duration varies by procedure, product, area and person. Universal timelines are not promised; an individual indication can be discussed after assessment.
Do treatments have risks?
Yes. Every medical procedure has possible adverse effects and contraindications. These are discussed before informed consent. No treatment is risk-free and no result can be guaranteed.
Can treatment be carried out during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
Injectable aesthetic procedures are generally not performed during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Your individual circumstances must always be discussed with the doctor.
Should I stop aspirin or anticoagulants?
Never stop prescribed medication on your own. Tell the doctor everything you take; if necessary, the prescribing clinician will be involved in the decision.
What is informed consent?
It is the discussion, and the document recording it, through which you receive information about aims, alternatives, risks and aftercare. It is an opportunity to ask questions, not a formality.
What should I bring to the first consultation?
Bring a list of medicines and supplements, known allergies and, if available, details of previous aesthetic treatments and products.
What is the difference between a facial area and a treatment?
A facial area describes what is assessed; a treatment describes one possible way of intervening. A link between them is not an individual recommendation.
Who performs the treatments?
Aesthetic medicine treatments are medical procedures performed personally by Dr Aufiero after consultation and informed consent.
Can I have treatment close to an important event?
Plan with sufficient time. Swelling and bruising are possible and some results can only be assessed at follow-up.
Can an injectable treatment be corrected or reversed?
It depends on the material. Hyaluronic acid may be treated with hyaluronidase; botulinum toxin wears off with time; biostimulators are not reversible in the same way.
Why are there no before-and-after photographs?
Such images can create unrealistic expectations and are subject to professional rules. Results differ between individuals and are discussed during consultation.
Where does the information come from?
Treatment information is based on scientific literature, professional guidance and official documents. It remains general information and does not replace medical assessment.
Every assessment begins with a medical consultation.
